Arts Council England works to get more art to more people in more places. We develop and promote the arts across England, acting as an independent body at arm’s length from government. 
This is the bedrock of support for the arts in England. We believe that the arts have the power to change lives and communities, and to create opportunities for people throughout the country. 

As a new, merged company, we intend to build on what has already been achieved by North West Vision and Media Training North West. However, we will also effect a step change in our combined ambition, skills, profitability, market share and creative excellence.
We want an industry that is a magnet for talent, is truly diverse and creates opportunities for all.

 

DiGM, (pronounced DIME!), is Greater Manchester's* central dance organisation providing a whole range of opportunities for dance. DiGM's work covers a range of areas from community grants for dance projects in the districts, to the bi-annual international festival Urban Moves. DiGM works with dance artists and companies, arts organisations, community groups, venues, local authorities and funders.

Established in 1997 the Alliance Française de Manchester is dedicated to the local promotion of French language and culture. Recently relocated to larger premises right in the heart of Manchester, the Alliance Française de Manchester is a reputable French language school offering a multimedia library and regular cultural events, such as the Cine-club and Café Philo.
Last but not least, the Alliance Française de Manchester is proud to share its premises and cooperate with the Goethe-Institute, a reflection of its European outlook.

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation. We convey a comprehensive picture of Germany by providing information on Germany's cultural, social and political life.One important goal of the Goethe-Institut Manchester is to promote international cultural cooperation and dialogue by organising a broad variety of events to present German culture.
The Goethe Institut supported the German films showcased at moves09 including the screening of Prince Ahmed in our moves  Classics new strand.

The Instituto Cervantes, the official Spanish Government Centre, is a public institution founded in 1991 to promote Spanish language teaching and knowledge of the cultures of Spanish speaking countries throughout the world. It is the largest worldwide Spanish teaching organization and has 40 branches in four continents.
The Insituto Cervantes supports the Spanish-speaking films and related activities showcased at moves09 and throughout our Learning scheme in the Year Round Activities.
