moves films are fun to watch and their always playful, energetic motifs makes them very child-friendly. So we decided to start a family strand this year for people of all ages to attend, share and encourage discussion with accessible artwork.
Cartwheel highlights include pLayModes, an interactive installation at The Lowry where participants movements are mirrored and processed via several screens; a selection of shorts recommended for 9+ years with footage of the exciting trend that is Parkour; a mad chase by page-scoffing bookovores in a library like no other, and many other sweet, surprising gems. We are particularly delighted to be showing The Adventures of Prince Achmed: the first ever feature-length animated film made in 1926, based upon stories from the magical 1001 Nights. .jpg) .jpg) .jpg)
